Starting your Erasmus+ journey in a new country is exciting — but we know it can also feel overwhelming. You might be asking yourself:
How do I get from the airport or train station to the dormitory?
Where can I buy a local SIM card to call home?
Where can I find affordable food nearby?
How do I settle into student life in a new city?
Don’t worry — you’re not alone!
At the University of Zielona Góra, we want you to feel supported from the very beginning of your stay. That’s why every Erasmus+ student coming for studies is assigned an Erasmus Buddy.
Our Buddy Programme is run in collaboration with the ESN UZ – Erasmus Student Network Zielona Góra, a group of local and international student volunteers who are here to:
Help you settle in when you arrive
Guide you around campus and the city
Support you with practical matters like SIM cards, transport, shopping, and more
Introduce you to Polish culture and student life
Organize fun events, trips, and activities throughout the semester
Whether it’s your first time abroad or you’re a seasoned traveller, your Buddy will make sure you start your Erasmus experience smoothly and feel welcome in Zielona Góra.
If you have questions before or after your arrival, feel free to reach out directly to the ESN team:
